Ms. Kauffman focuses her practice on secured creditor’s rights in consumer bankruptcy cases including routine motions as well as contested hearings. Cari received her JD from DePaul University College of Law in 2009 and her BS in Business Administration and BA in Spanish from the University of Evansville in 2007. Prior to joining Sorman & Frankel, she represented mortgage lenders in consumer bankruptcy and state court foreclosure actions. Cari is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Central, and Southern Districts of Illinois as well as for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.

Cari is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute. She recently served as a panelist at the ABI Chicago Consumer Conference speaking on best practices for secured creditors in consumer bankruptcy cases.
